The Tale of Pigling Bland is a New Family Musical. Book and Lyrics by Suzy Conn, Music by Mitchell Kitz. The script is for a cast of 8, 4 men and 4 women. One set. Synopsis: The adventure begins when Aunt Pettitoes sends Pigling Bland and his younger brother Alexander off to market to get a job. She warns them to always wear their licenses, and to never cross the big bridge. Poor Pigling doesn't want to go - all he really wants is his own potato farm. Along the way he is interrogated by a policeman, pignapped by mean old Farmer Piperson, teased by hens, tormented by a cat and dog, and finally falls in love with the beautiful PigWig. The two pigs narrowly escape becoming bacon and live happily ever after when they cross the big bridge and discover that everyone is a vegetarian on the other side! Pigling and PigWig return home triumphantly with potatoes for everyone. Even Piperson has a change of heart! Beatrix Potter is the most popular children's author of all time, so this singing and dancing show is ideal for kids aged 3 to 9 and their parents.
